1. Selection of door closers

For occasions that are used frequently, it should be required that the product has better sealing performance and long service life.

2. Requirements for the use of door closers

3. The installation method of the door closer

a. The most commonly used door closer is the exterior door closer, and its installation method is that the door closer is installed on the hinge side and the door opening side. When so mounted, the arms of the closer project outwardly, at approximately 90° to the door frame.

b. The door closer is installed on the door closing side opposite the hinge side. Usually, an extra bracket supplied with the door closer mounts to the arms parallel to the door frame. This usage is usually on exterior doors that open outwards where it is not desirable to install the door closer outside the building. The door's closer body is reverse mounted to the door frame instead of the door, with the door closed on the opposite side of the door from the hinge. This usage can also be used on exterior doors that open outwards, especially those doors that have a very narrow top edge and are not wide enough to accommodate the body of the door closer.

4. Installation steps of the door closer

a. The instruction manual provided with the door closer has an installation sample, so read the instruction first, and determine the installation position according to the door opening direction, the force of closing the door, and the installation dimensions between the body of the door closer, the connecting seat and the door hinge.

b. According to the requirements of the door closing force, the closing force can be changed by reversing the connecting seat 180° or changing the connecting position between the connecting rod and the connecting seat. The greater the distance between the adjustment connecting rod and the center line of the door hinge, the smaller the closing force of the door is closed, and vice versa.

c. According to the position indicated on the installation template, determine the position of the installation screw, and then drill and tap.

5. Problems that may arise during the installation of the door closer

Problem 1: The door leaf cannot be positioned

Solution:

1. Check whether the power supply has a 24v voltage input

2. Check whether the polarity of the power supply is reversed and whether the Exit button is turned on

Problem 2: The door leaf cannot be opened

Solution:

1. Check whether the connecting rod screw of the linkage door closer blocks the door leaf.

2. Check whether the door closer is installed backward.

Problem 3: The door does not open or close properly

Solution:

1. Check whether the installation of the door closer is in place and whether it is tilted

2. Check whether the installation angle of the connecting rod is correct

3. Check whether the lock tongue in the chute is too tight, and add lubricant to adjust.
